Description

The KIDS YURT is a portable playhouse for kids made in the yurt style. It is a unique, eco-friendly, national product handmade in Mongolia. The set includes a plywood structure, a fabric cover.

The plywood structure is comprised of lattice wall, a door, ribs supported by a compression ring in the center of the roof.  Plywood structure is covered by a fabric cover.

The kid’s yurt is a unique gift for your children.  The yurt:

  • ideal for children’s games, parties, and picnics;
  • easy, fast assembled and disassembled (takes 15 – 25 min only);
  • can be used indoor and outdoor;
  • made of natural materials;
  • unique and ethnic product.

What is Yurt?

A traditional yurt (from the Turkic languages) or ger (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. The structure comprises an angled assembly or latticework of pieces of wood or bamboo for walls, a door frame, ribs (poles, rafters), and a wheel (crown, compression ring) possibly steam-bent. The roof structure is often self-supporting. The top of the wall of self-supporting yurts is prevented from spreading by means of a tension band which opposes the force of the roof ribs.
