The Mongolian traditional deel and other forms of national clothing are well designed for the demanding Mongolian climate and environment and the unique nomadic ways of life, social values, and customs.
Therefore, since the 1930s when Mongolian had started its diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union, Mongolian traditional deel started mixing up with European clothing becoming more and more easy to wear daily.
This vertical collared Mongolian shirt has nomads’ traditional placket from the fifth century which has a purpose of double protection as avoiding any digestive problems.

This deel is wonderful!
I bought it in dark blue and thick. The size fits perfectly! The collar, arm length, overall length… everything is perfect. The textile feels soft and is of good quality. The inside textile has a cute flower pattern. The stitching is very sturdy. I have worn it outsides even doing activities in the snow and it held up great. When wearing some more clothing underneath I was not feeling cold at all in like -15°C with snowfall and winds. If wearing less underneath it will also be good during spring and autumn or inside. The dark blue color is almost blackish and looks very elegant. It goes nicely with some more brightly colored accessoires. I received many compliments and even my Mongolian relatives were surprised by the good quality. Make sure to have a nice leather belt or a long sash to wear it properly.
