In cooler temperatures it is semi-solid and an opaque white. You can melt it in your fingertips or the palm of your hand and it will go on smoothly. It does have a faint smell of horse oil that you have to get used to. BUT – my skin seems to drink this up. Compared to Japanese horse oil, which is highly processed and deodorized but already very good, this one feels even better on my skin. I use it as eye, face and body cream. Horse oil is said to be very similar to human skins sebum, healing and even protect against oxidative damage from UV. And I feel it does exactly that. Please try it!
