Premium Yak Wool:
Sourced from the pristine grasslands of Mongolia, our blanket is made from the soft underbelly hair of yaks. Known for its incredible insulation properties, yak wool ensures exceptional warmth without excess weight.
Can You Wash Yak Wool?
Yes, you can wash yak wool, but it requires special care to ensure that the delicate fibers are not damaged.
- Hand washing is the preferred method for cleaning yak wool items. Use lukewarm water (around 30°C or 86°F) and a mild detergent specifically designed for wool or delicate fabrics.
- Fill a basin or sink with the soapy water and gently submerge the yak wool item. Let it soak for about 5-10 minutes. Avoid agitating or rubbing the fabric vigorously, as this can cause felting or damage the fibers.
- Lay the yak wool item flat on a clean, dry towel or a drying rack in its original shape. Avoid hanging it, as this can cause stretching. Ensure proper air circulation to facilitate drying.
This is my second purchase of this yak blanket. They are lightweight, very warm, soft and attractive. An excellent quality product.
Very soft to touch. Much softer than 100% sheep wool blankets. I would buy again.
